Annabeth Gish (Mystic Pizza), Steve Guttenberg (Three Men and a Baby) and Christine Elise (Body Snatchers) star as unacquainted strangers in four separate encounters linked by the mysterious woman at the other end of a pay phone which plays the role of makeshift therapist and anonymous outlet for their solitary woes when they answer it. Loss of love, life and self-respect are themes that emerge in the interwoven stories of both ordinary and unexpected personal connections involving a car-thief cupid, a sex worker/realtor, an extra-terrestrial exorcist and a relentless and pathetic husband.
